In synthesizing the best of what Improv comedy and Stand Up offer, Laughter On Call’s work encourages people – through games and exercises- to express themselves authentically and to free their imagination. We create a respectful space and make a point of distinguishing between laughing at people, which is not allowed, and laughing with people, which we celebrate. When teams establish this kind of communication, they create a psychologically safe environment where everyone can feel comfortable sharing their ideas, even imperfect ones, and see how that might lead them to other, even more innovative ideas.

LAUGHTER GYM

DESCRIPTION

Modelled after our most popular Lunchtime Laughter series, LAUGHTER GYM features a simple and yet effective comedy curriculum that creates connection through shared laughter! Two Laughter On Call comedians lead the group in a half-hour workshop that includes physical and vocal warm-ups, comedy prompts that serve as ice breakers for the group, followed by Improv games to get synapses firing. Focusing on different comedy tools daily, LAUGHTER GYM delivers the experience of heading to the gym, for an inspiring work out of mind, body and spirit.

Her coaching technique is grounded in proven tools honed teaching stand up to undergrads and professionals at UCLA and her 25 years working as a comedian and teacher.
